2015 Goal Setting for a NEW YOU!

2015 Goal Setting for a NEW YOU!

Psychologists say that thinking positively about something really might make it happen. Me, I say hell yes!  I’m a big believer in thinking, manifesting and believing to achieve.  Are you thinking about living your best year yet in 2015, if so… read on!

This is my favourite time of year, without doubt! Each year regardless of where I am or whom I’m with I set aside ‘me’ time to be with myself, reflect on what I have achieved over the last year and what I’d like to achieve in the new year to come.

It’s one time that everyone gets a break, some form of downtime and time with loved ones. {I personally like to teach others how they can have this time at any point of the year with my business model, yep it really is possible} However at Christmas time, there is a little extra summin, summin in the air that gives goal setting, aspiring and dreaming the belief that YES you can do this so you can do the things you love!

Are you ready to welcome your new dreams in 2015?

My 10 Goal Setting Strategy Steps for Success

1. WHY. Are you making a change because you want to achieve it for yourself? Or are you making the change because others think you ‘should’ do it? If you want better health for yourself, a more positive outlook and success that last’s, your desire for change needs to come from within you – not anyone else.  Discover ‘why’ your choosing this goal and if you don’t achieve it what would this mean to you?

2. What? It’s a common misconception but a New Year does not mean, new diet! {Diet’s die and do not last} Rather think of your new year as a chance for a New You! You may wish to detox, cleanse, introduce new movement or even new hobbies. Perhaps you’re looking for a total lifestyle or career change. Whatever you’re aiming for, write down your goals, make them visual and place them where you’ll see them every day. Look at them regularly and think about when you achieve them how this will make you feel.

3. Be Committed! Understand that commitment takes drive, dedication and work. Be prepared to put in the effort and face the changes you’ll be making along this new journey of yours – you really are worth it!

4. Mini Goals. Rather than making one HUGE goal, break them down into smaller, more achievable mini goals. You’re more likely to stick with new lifestyle changes if you can work towards your daily, weekly or monthly mini goals. This both keeps you on track and helps you in working towards achieving your larger overall goal.

5. There are no quick fixes. Set realistic goals and time frames for yourself. There are no diet pills or over night lottery wins to anything in life. What ever your goal give it time to manifest, work on it and yourself daily, visualize yourself achieving your goal/s and know that this journey is a lifestyle change for life.

6. Mark your progress. Your on an exciting journey. From an insiders look at yourself it can be challenging to see and gage your progress. The best way to do so is to keep a journal, diary or chart your progress with photographs. Make note of your progress, how you feel and your progress.

7. Rewards! Life should be about celebration so when you hit your mini goals celebrate, reward yourself and feel satisfaction in your success.  Every step you take is a step closer to your goal.

8. Expect hurdles. There are going to be some ups and downs after all, we’re only human! The most important thing is to see the bigger picture, remind yourself WHY you set these goals for yourself and how you’re going to feel when you achieve them.  Don’t hold anything in, express your downs with family, friends or an accountability buddy and as in #7 express yours up’s too!

9. Motivation Rollercoaster. There will be days when your motivation is low, expect it and embrace it! Keep the reasons that you started on this journey in clear vision. This is where your journal, diary or images will come in use – go back to Day 1 and see just how far you’ve come!

You are achieving great heights, keep inspiring and being inspired.  Surround yourself daily with people who motivate and inspire you.

10. Get some help. Find an accountability buddy, partner with a friend or get direct help here. Connect and embrace help from others for when you have questions, want to share feelings or celebrate success.
