As most of Wellsome’s beautiful readers would know I just came back from a month in Asia after a big leap of faith in quitting my job in March and taking on Wellsome full time. Ekkk.
It was a big old jump and felt more like I was jumping out of a plane than off a bridge, but I’m not looking back! If you missed that you can read about it here; Dreams Really Do Come True.
The purpose of this trip was to wind down, and wind on up Wellsome.
Before heading to Bali, Indonesia I visited Singapore for a week attending an International Health Conference. Which I’m going to be writing about and sharing with you soon – stay tuned for that. Singapore is such a beautiful city. From beautiful modern architecture buildings to Chinatown, Little India and an island playground Sentosa.
Speaking of Islands, I could not wait for Bali.
When most people think of Bali the first thing that comes to mind is the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Seminyak. Myself I think of health, fresh food, yin, namaste, coconuts, bikini and ocean. All of which happen to be my favourite things, all in the one place.
What better surroundings when taking your health and business to the next level, than being in Bali.
Quitting my job wasn’t about solely focusing on Wellsome. A contributing reason was to spend more time on me, my vision, my goals and most importantly my health. Another reason why Bali was calling me.
(ps. not to mention I needed some time out to work on a few new projects to come in the near future. Stay Tuned!)
Time to re-tune, re-gather, replenish and restore. Interestingly like all thing’s in life every experience is different and reflects differently on us. Over my few weeks in Bali there were plenty of great lessons learnt, my top 3 of which I can’t wait to share with you.
My Top Three Bali Experiences:
1. Incredible Health Food
Almost don’t know where to begin. I share this message almost everyday, when it comes to food what we put in is optimally what we get out. Bali has a few little health haven’s tucked away that simply radiate with amazing food, largely organic, all grown and cooked fresh. The Balinese have such a great tradition of understanding health and traditional methods. You can see this when you meet the elderly and they look younger than 40. Still blows my mind away, look at their skin, their eyes and their hearts – all being with happiness. They live such simple lifestyles and obtain rather clean diets, and have been doing so for century’s. Lesson: The things we think, do, eat and feel everyday effect our long term health and happiness.
My Top fav eateries in Bali:
Yoga Barn Kafe – Ubud
Cashew Tree – Bingin
Betelnut Kafe – Canngu

2. Balinese Culture
From 5 Star resorts in Nusa Dua to home stays in Ubud I met some of the most incredible people whom shared their unmatched culture. There immense passion for their traditions, the way they share and connect with their community is something we here in the western world very rarely see, yet personally experience.
There work ethic is unmatchable and I’ve never seen anything like it. Workers who’ve held the same job for 30+ years, and they love it. Men that sit on the side of the road prospecting for work 12 hours a day to provide for their families, with many days not recruiting any jobs or work at all.
This was such a deep lesson in the difference between ‘need’ and ‘want’. They do what it takes, for however long it takes until they reach their goal. Now that’s drive and determination. The Balinese do this with hours upon hours of rejection and time away from their families. Yet they still remain filled with so much joy and happiness, all while only having the essential needs to their name.
This experience taught me a great business lesson: Despite how many set backs that may present themselves and challenge me in pursuing my passion, it is only my own culture, drive and why that will lead me to success.

3. Earning while Travelling
After jumping off the ‘rate race’ and pursing my passion full time being in Bali was a great test for this. Although this isn’t directly linked to Bali it was a first experience that confirmed again, why I love what I do.
For the last 6 years I’ve been travelling internationally. (I love to travel!) Every travel experience I’ve had to take unpaid work leave. While being self-employed as a photographer was great, when it came to holidays though it always meant I had to save save save so I could have time off unpaid and then return to no work only to build it all up again. This hurt, mentally, financially and was also extremely unhealthy.
Bali was totally different. Wellsome made profit each week while I was away, and weekly residual income was coming it regardless of whether I did something or not. A very new experience that taught me that you can master a healthy balance and do both business and pleasure, earning while you travel. It still blows my mind to think that someone who loves to help others empower their own health can do exactly what they love, from home or travelling. Lesson: You can create what the mind believes. All it takes is drive, determination and believe. You too can achieve the same, learn how here.

Been to Bali? Would love to hear what you’re favourite experiences are. Comment below.
I’ve arrived home totally health inspired, with a new step in my stride and an unmatched drive. Doing what you love, from where you love gives what you do a totally new dimension. Follow you’re dreams beautiful, you can create a life you love to live – on your own terms!
