Every year I take the week over Christmas and New Years to reflect, let go, reset and plan. Reviewing the year that has passed and preparing for the year ahead – something I really enjoy about this time of the year.
These are the three greatest lessons and triumphs that were 2015.
2015 Lessons
1. Guarding & Protecting Energy
When serving others in group or 1:1 style you’re not just sharing your skill set or professionalism you’re also sharing your personal energy. For myself it’s easy to give, give, give and share my energy with others, friends, family and clients. This saw me hit a point of exhaustion during the year where I had to have a ‘check-in’ with myself and my personal health. This taught me to not forget about my health while serving others with theres. I’ve learnt that I need to still give and share energy, however be more aware of instances where others take (suck) my energy. This isn’t something I’ve mastered, but it’s something I work on on a daily basis.
2. Failure to Learn
You have to be willing to fail to learn. Throughout the year I had many failures, some big and many small ones. The lesson here was to see the learning in the failure. In the past I use to beat myself up about not hitting a goal I had set, or not having the conversion I was looking for. All of these failures presented the best lessons. Even though I’ve experienced failings for many years as a solo-preneur it wasn’t until this year that I truly saw the lesson in every mistake, fail or ‘throw my computer out of the window’ breakdown. haha Yep they happened too! I owe this lesson to my beautiful man who has helped me see the light even in the darkest (frustrating) moments.
3. WHY = DRIVE
If you’re Why is strong enough your Drive will take you anywhere. Helping others, driving Wellsome and creating a lifestyle that nourishes are my three biggest daily intentions. When I nourish myself I am in a place physically, mentally and emotionally to be of service to others. It also provides me the stamina and strength to drive Wellsome. On the flip side when I become unstable in my lifestyle and how I nourish myself the rest crumbles away. Throughout this entire year reaching Triumph #3 (below), travelling the world and becoming self dependant (ie. jobless) all of these events have taught me one of the biggest lessons. Anything is achievable if your Why is big and strong enough to Drive you there. Knowing my WHY, setting up my business with multiple income streams and together with nourishing myself 2015 has shown me that your Why simply Drives you. The thought I could run business for 13 weeks (9 of which were consecutive) overseas in different timezones as a big paradigm pusher for me – and with a tweak of my Why I’ve learnt and experienced all of these and much more is very achievable if your WHY is strong enough.
2015 Triumphs
1. Goodbye Gluten eBook
For the last 14+ years I’ve been living Gluten Free and have had the goal of writing down my lessons, teachings, experiences and documenting it together to help others learn more about this ‘not-so-needed’ grain called Gluten. 96 pages long, a 6 week wellness guide to giving up gluten, and months of collating together everything about gluten from experiences, lessons, mistakes and education – and Goodbye Gluten was born in June 2016. 2. Eat Yourself Clean
Following close behind the eBook I was being continually asked to put together an online, self passed program. After lots of toying around with the idea I decided to bite the bullet and put together an in depth 21 day program that includes 10+ free downloads, 20+ videos, worksheets, audios and a guided support.
I didn’t know that 2015 was going to be a year of publishing online programs but the verdict has been pretty good!
“Easy to follow, full of great information & yummy recipes.” – Chloe, Queensland Australia
“Eat Yourself Clean was fantastic. I not only learnt so much but I now have the tools to create a healthy lifestyle. The energy I have from the daily habits has blown my mind & the food and smoothies were delish.” – Brie, North Island New Zealand

3. JOB-less
Becoming self independent has been a decade long goal. March 2015 saw this goal come into fruition as I said goodbye to my last contracted client for good. This was my security blanket, it meant I had a part time income that supported Wellsome and my coaching. But holding onto this blanket wasn’t serving me nor was it serving them. This was one of the hardest decisions I made in 2015, one I had actually pondered about all of 2014. 10 months on now and I’ve spent 13 weeks overseas and if I hadn’t of taken this big scary step my lifestyle and Wellsome would not be where they are today. Here’s to being bold, courageous and ‘just doing it’. Missed the read of me taking the leap? Click here.

There were many other great highlights of 2015 such as spending 13 weeks overseas through 8 different countries, getting back on my yoga mat after 8 months off healing a shoulder injury, 3 of my closest friends gifting me with precious nieces and nephews to love, and having many adventures, arguments (yes we bicker too – we’re human), laughs and lots of love with and for my beloved MK.
All of these things have formulated one of the best, testing, rewarding and growth years I’ve ever had. With 2016 well and truly here my goals and intentions are set and I can not wait to see what this year holds and presents.
