How can men best prepare for fatherhood? Resentment, guilt, and shame, amongst other emotions, aren’t uncommon for new fathers to experience. It’s important for fathers to acknowledge this transition, prepare as best they can, and find the balance of prioritising themselves while best supporting their relationship and their baby. Tully O’Conner is one of the few men featured on the Well Woman Podcast and for good reason. He is a transformational coach who helps couples and individuals navigate complex issues to create secure, intimate relationships. Tully is also a husband and father of two boys, which is why I called on him to join me in chatting all about the male perspective preparing for birth and transitioning into fatherhood. Tully gives great advice for all current or expecting fathers on how to support your family while prioritising yourself. He shares what he sees tears most couples apart after having a baby, how to approach the transition to fatherhood, how intimacy changes after having a baby, beneficial resources for fathers, how to navigate the resentment and shame new fathers experience
